David M. Dykstra founded D.M. Dykstra & Co. in 1926, and the first shop was opened that year at 10934 S. Michigan Ave. in Roseland. By 1974, D.M. Dykstra & Co. had grown to include 17 trucks and 30 employees, and David M. Dykstra turned over management of the day-to-day operations to his sons, David Jr. and Richard. To this day, Richard remains general manager of D.M. Dykstra & Co. and the company remains a familiar presence in the south suburbs.

   

In 1998, Carrier awarded D.M. Dykstra their highest honor of "distinguished dealer," a distinction given only to a select few dealers in North America to recognize dedication to quality service and complete customer satisfaction. D.M. Dykstra is one of a handful of distinguished Carrier dealers in Illinois.

D.M. Dykstra is now affiliated with Nicor Home Services, which means each service technician must meet rigorous requirements for quality service. These requirements include insurance, licensing, employee training and ability to meet Nicor Home Services' high standards for response as measured by our ongoing customer satisfaction research.

The company is still run today much the way it was in 1926 – with a sense of community and commitment to quality workmanship and equipment.
